European Technology Platform “Food for Life” | ESB-UCP

Doutorado em Ciência e Tecnologia Alimentar pela University of Reading RU & com Agregação na mesma disciplina pela Universidade Católica Portuguesa. Atualmente Professor Associado na Escola Superior de Biotecnologia. A sua formação científica foi inicialmente em bioquímica e microbiologia mas tem-se envolvido em muitas áreas de investigação na área agro-alimentar. Atualmente é Co-Chair da European Technology Platform - Food for Life (https://etp.fooddrinkeurope.eu/), tendo sido, até fevereiro de 2021, cofundador e Diretor Científico do National Collaborative Laboratory on Vines & Wines. Entre outras responsabilidades anteriores foi Diretor do Centro de Investigação CBQF entre 2009-17, Presidente da agência de I&D da Viniportugal (2006-13) e Vice-Presidente da Portugal Foods, 2009-2017.


PhD in Food Science and Technology from the University of Reading RU & with Aggregation in the same discipline from the Catholic University of Portugal. Currently Associate Professor at the School of Biotechnology. His scientific training was initially in biochemistry and microbiology but he has been involved in many areas of research in the agro-food area. He is currently Co-Chair of the European Technology Platform-Food for Life (https://etp.fooddrinkeurope.eu/), having been, until February 2021, co-founder and Scientific Director of the National Collaborative Laboratory on Vines & Wines. Among other previous responsibilities he was Director of the CBQF Research Center between 2009-17, President of Viniportugal's R&D agency (2006-13) and Vice-President of Portugal Foods, 2009-2017.
