Ondina Afonso é Presidente do Clube de Produtores Continente acumulando com o cargo de Diretora de Qualidade e Investigação na empresa MC Sonae.

É Presidente do Comité Alimentar no EuroCommerce e do Comité Técnico da Cadeia de Custódia do GlobalG.A.P..

Durante dez anos foi coordenadora dos Serviços de Tecnologia e Inovação e docente na Escola Superior de Biotecnologia da Universidade Católica Portuguesa. Foi Diretora Executiva da PORTUGALFOODS entre 2009 e 2016.

Desde 2003 é convidada pela Comissão Europeia para participar na avaliação de Projetos Europeus de Investigação & Inovação e, recentemente em grupos de trabalho, no âmbito da Estratégia Europeia do Prado ao Prato.

 

 

Ondina Afonso is a food engineer and has over 20 years work experience in academia and the agri-food sector. Currently she is Head of Quality & Research at MC - the market leader in food retail in Portugal. She also chairs the Clube de Produtores Continente of MC, via which the company strengthens the competitiveness, innovation and sustainability of national fresh production and producers. She’s the Chair of the Food Committee at EuroCommerce and Chair of the Chain of Custody Technical Committee at GLOBALG.A.P. . Since 2002 she has been working at European Commission as an Independent Expert assisting with research and innovation assignments including the evaluation of proposals and, more recently, contributing to the definition of concepts for a sustainable EU food system.
